We're in this study entitled: "What are the Odds that Jesus Fulfilled Over 300 Prophecies." I know we've put away our Nativity Sets for the year, but did you know Bethlehem plays a very significant critical piece to prophecy? It was the Methodist preacher, Phillips Brooks, who gave the world the Christmas hymn “O Little Town of Bethlehem.” When visiting the Holy Land, and reflecting on how Bethlehem was where King David was born and where his descendant, Jesus Christ, would be born. Because of Micah’s prediction made 700 years before Jesus’ birth, four details were anticipated. Join us this Sunday, 10:45am, as over the next few weeks, we continue to examine the "Odds" of prophecy fulfillment by Jesus and the significance of Bethlehem. This week, we kick off a new 8-10 week series study entitled, "What are the Odds that Jesus Fulfilled Over 300 Prophecies?" In this study, we'll examine the amazing nature of predictive Biblical prophecy, as well as examine the statistical odds of how one person in history could fulfill the precise prognostications of the Old Testament, the miraculous birth, and why Jesus came, just to name a few. Specifically, for this week, however, we'll explore an up close preview of how two disciples went from being sorrow to joyous in one afternoon after Jesus' crucifixion. These are questions that seem to be often asked not only by the secular world, but also by Christians. If not appropriately addressed, these questions can challenge your belief, and expose how well-equipped you should be when answering them. Have you ever heard of a poem admiring the virtues of pain, or even a song dedicated to the benefits of suffering? Probably not. So, we can ask the question: Who would ever choose to intentionally suffer? The answer might surprise you! Join us this Sunday, 10:45am, as we examine someone who chose to suffer for God! The average person spends 1/5 of his/her life talking--some more, some less! Some have calculated one could fill 3,000 volumes or 1,500,000 pages of words. This can lead us to a question: What is the most important "word" that one can speak? Join us this Sunday, 10:45am, as we see what the Apostle John says about what the world's most important "Word" is! There has always existed a tension between God’s people and human Government, especially when not in favor of those in power. So, as a Christian, what are we to do? What’s our Role with Government? What’s the rule and reason for Government? Perhaps, more importantly, what’s our response to Government?
